My Focus Areas

Anxiety:  I help clients navigate chronic worry, stress and anxiety-driven patterns by building insight, coping skills and resilience. Together, we explore the roots of anxiety while strengthening coping strategies, self-compassion and confidence, supporting clients in moving toward greater balance and emotional well-being. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique experiences, helping them better understand anxiety and develop practical tools to manage it with greater ease and self-trust

Trauma: I support individuals in understanding how past experiences may continue to impact their emotions, relationships and sense of safety. Using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, I work collaboratively with clients to foster healing, resilience and a renewed sense of control and connection. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and emphasizes safety, empowerment and collaboration. I help clients process difficult experiences, understand trauma responses and develop effective coping strategies to support long-term healing and emotional well-being. Through a supportive and strengths-based approach, I help clients build insight, restore a sense of safety and move toward healing at their own pace.

Personality Disorders: I have worked with a variety of personality disorders but primarily borderline personality disorder. I support individuals who experience intense emotions, relationship challenges and difficulties with self-identity. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, emphasizing understanding, emotional regulation, and the development of healthier patterns that support stability, connection and self-acceptance. I work from a strengths-based, nonjudgmental perspective that recognizes both the challenges and resilience present in clients’ experiences. Together, we focus on increasing emotional awareness, developing effective coping skills and fostering more stable and fulfilling relationships. My goal is to provide a supportive and validating space where clients can better understand themselves, learn practical skills and move toward greater emotional balance and confidence.

Approach

My approach to counseling is relational and person-centered because I believe authenticity and mutual respect promotes growth. I use a collaborative approach so that clients and I can explore, discuss, challenge thoughts and feelings, and create goals. I take an eclectic approach but frequently utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Additionally, I am a registered art therapist (ATR). I utilize creative processes to support emotional expression, healing, and personal growth across a variety of mental health concerns to support clients' goals and growth. I work collaboratively with clients from diverse backgrounds and are committed to providing LGBTQ+ affirming care that honors identity, culture and lived experience.
